Beaches
Paignton beach, Fairy cove ,Goodrington sands All are within easy walking distance of Stanley House. Paignton beach is a walk through the harbour, Fairy cove sits behind the harbour through Ravenswood park and Goodrington sands is across the pitch and putt course and down the cliff path. This area of beach is split in two, the north end is where you can walk your dog at any time and the south side is reserved for people only, during May and September. Goodrington is a great family orientated beach with Quaywest water park. A fun filled day out for everyone. If you prefer to relax on the grass then youngs park offers just that, a very pleasant level area close to the boating park and beach. From Stanley House Goodrington can be reached down the cliff pathway which is illuminated at night for a very pleasant walk .

A five minute walk brings you to…….
Paignton harbour is a small working harbour and launching area for boats and jet skis alike. Pleasure and fishing boats can be sought daily with a regular link by boat to Torquay and Brixham, so leave the car behind. If you prefer to stay on dry land have breakfast or lunch in the Toby Jug café or the Harbour Lights restaurant. Alternatively pick up fish and chips or a Chinese takeaway. All are on the door step.
A post office and shop are on the harbourside and open every day early till late during high season.

Dart Valley Steam Railway
Connects at Paignton station and Goodrington, offering a lovely picturesque trip through the countryside to Kingswear and Dartmouth a large naval riverside town. From here you can connect by boat to Totnes a small but busy market town. This is called the round robin excursion.

Paignton pier and multicomplex cinema….
Are a short walk along Paignton beach.There are numerous bars and discos with access into town where you will find numerous cafes and restaurants.

Torquay had a new attraction for 2004, Living Coasts run in conjunction with the zoo or the harbourside. This is a must for bird admirers and a chance to view life underwater as well as above.
